How to Read El Pato Pascual with Jorge Verdin

Jorge Verdin is an ArtCenter alum, Pasadena-based graphic designer, and music producer who grew up in Tijuana, Mexico. Verdin is obsessed with English post-punk, as well as Mexican culture and vernacular, which translated to a career of creating through the fusion of different cultures, art forms and music. He will be discussing his latest work, a collaboration with artist Rubén Ortiz-Torres on a book and exhibition catalog titled, “How To Read El Pato Pascual,” an examination of Disney’s influence in Latin American art, culture and politics, and vice versa.

Followed by a conversation with Simon Johnston, HMCT Creative Director and ArtCenter College Professor of Design.
