Fight for Kindness

To celebrate World Kindness Day (November 13), the global Fight for Kindness poster exhibition returns to promote kindness through typography. Sponsored by the renowned type foundry Zetafonts and organized by its academic project TypeCampus, this award-winning non-profit initiative unites emerging and established talent who believe in the power of creativity to drive social change. This year, HMCT will be participating as one of five international venues.

Centered on the theme “Unexpectedness,” the third edition’s call – free to enter and closed on May 31 – encouraged participants to explore how surprising acts of kindness can have a transformative impact in promoting a virtuous and contagious response. With over 500 submissions from 355 authors across 23 languages and scripts, 2024 marked the largest and most diverse response yet.

Selected works will be showcased in international exhibitions from Cairo to Budapest, and Plovdiv, starting in Cairo, on the occasion of the Egypt Creative Industry Summit. All entries are also available for viewing in the Fight for Kindness 2024 online gallery and will be featured in an annual publication, set for release in January, 2025. The collection includes posters and messages from invited leading creatives such as Debbie Millman, Ariane Spanier, Héctor Auyso, Baugasm, Kiel DM, Simone Massoni, Kinda Ghannoum, Hala Al Afsaa from the Syrian Design Archive, Kateryna Korolevtseva, and other renowned designers.
