To celebrate World Kindness Day (November 13), the global Fight for Kindness showcase returns to promote kindness through typography. Sponsored by the renowned type foundry Zetafonts and organized by its academic project TypeCampus, this award-winning non-profit initiative unites emerging and established talent who believe in the power of creativity to drive social change. This year, HMCT will be participating as one of the five international venues.
The HMCT Archive is pleased to announce the acquisition of the (rare) letterpress printed broadside collection Dead Feminists: Historic Heroines in Living Color created by Chandler O’Leary and Jessica Spring.
In our investigations, we often encounter enigmatic Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) that accompany a particular subject or institution. Their authors and authenticity remain a mystery, often evoking both amusement and surprise. Do You Have a Platypus? features a selection of existing FAQ adopted from established institutions typeset in fonts tdesigned in Greg Lindy’s Font Design course at ArtCenter College of Design.
The HMCT (South Campus) Gallery is free and open to the public. It is accessible when school is in term, seven days a week from 9 AM to 7 PM.
The Storefront Gallery, located within the Center, is also free and open to the public most weekdays from 10 AM to 4 PM. (We advise you to call ahead to make sure the Storefront Gallery is open,
