Actual Source is the collaborative design practice of Davis Ngarupe (Cook Islands / USA) and JP Haynie (USA). Together they design publications, identities, websites, and physical spaces for clients in many diverse fields.
In addition to studio practice, Actual Source operates as an editor, publisher, brand, and retail store that collaborates with contemporary artists, designers, and writers to publish limited edition books, fonts, clothing, and objects.
Since 2016 Actual Source has been invited to speak at various academic institutions and conferences. Most recently at Typo Berlin in 2018. Their work was exhibited at the 28th International Biennial of Graphic Design in Brno, CZ and in April their work was shown at the Tokyo Type Directors Club 2019 Exhibition at Ginza Graphic Gallery in Tokyo.
