Circling the Grid: Letterpress Workshop

Jessica Spring has been a letterpress printer since 1989, inventing Daredevil Furniture for the composition of metal type in circles, curves and angles. Her work—artist books, broadsides and ephemera—is included in collections around the country and abroad. Spring has an MFA from Columbia College Chicago and teaches workshops virtually and in person around the country.

Public Workshop at Archetype Press: Saturday, October 26, 9 AM to 4 PM
Circling the Grid will be a full-day workshop with the daring printer Jessica Spring of @springtidepress. You’ll get hands-on instruction in creative typesetting techniques that defy tradition—think curves, angles, and bounces instead of straight lines and right angles. Whether you’re just starting out or have printing experience, this workshop is designed to push your boundaries. Workshop fee is $150 and includes all materials. For information or to register, contact Studio Manager Joshue Molina: joshue.molina@artcenter.edu.

Workshop fee is $150, all materials included. Please pay via the ArtCenter Donation Portal and make sure to direct your gift to the Hoffmitz Milken Center for Typography (HMCT) by Clicking Here.
