Please join us for a public reception on Thursday, May 18 from 5 to 7 PM for Presence of Absence, the exhibition currently on display in the HMCT Gallery through May 28. The culmination of the most recent Berlin Study Away Program of ArtCenter College of Design, students were challenged to produce their own installation project after an initial period studying concepts of absence and presence through lectures, field trips, and site visits in Berlin—a city whose past and present are particularly well suited to the subject.
Participating ArtCenter Gx students are Elio Chen, Grace Hwang, Ruby Kim, Sydney Lee, Elliana Lee, Maggie Morton, Jacob Ruiz, and Katherine Shirinyan. Their instructors were Prof. Simon Johnston, Prof. Rob Ball, and Nina Holland, Director of Little Steidl publishing house.
For more information on the project, visit Presence of Absence.
HMCT Gallery is located at the South Campus Gallery of ArtCenter College, 950 Raymond Avenue, Pasadena.
