During her 2025 residency at HMCT, Yara Khoury Nammour examined the frequency and variation of letters in Arabic script, uncovering structural patterns across a wide body of texts. Her research offers a rare look into the internal rhythm and recurring forms of Arabic writing. Join us for an online presentation as Yara shares the process and findings of her research.
Yara is a designer, educator, and researcher from Lebanon and an assistant professor of graphic design at the American University of Beirut (AUB). She leads the Arabic Type Research Unit, which focuses on practice-based research, and co-organizes the biennial Mashq conference at AUB, aiming to advance Arabic type and its typography. |
