Dennis Ichiyama
Dennis Ichiyama is an artist focusing on woodblock prints and former professor of Visual Communications Design at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. During his career he has received several fellowships and study grants, and many awards. He has contributed to the books Contemporary Designers, and Hamilton Wood Type, A History in Headlines.From 2000-2009, he printed several type specimen sheets using the vintage wood type, at Hamilton Wood, which constitutes the bulk of his generous gift to HMCT. Ichiyama worked at the type and printing museum Tipoteca in Cornuda, Italy, where he developed another specimen sheet, TIF (Typoteca Italiana Fondazion) Portfolio, also included in this collection.
