AbraCadaBrA was a periodical launched in 1988 in Los Angeles by the Alliance for Contemporary Book Arts, co-founded by Susan E. King, Lucy Goodman, and Jaime Robles. AbraCadaBrA ceased publication after the mid-1990s. Across its roughly ten issues, the journal functioned as the Alliance’s newsletter, documenting the Southern California book-arts community through themed numbers—such as calligraphy and autobiographical artists’ books—often guest-edited by practitioners like Kitty Maryatt and Carolee Campbell.
