Published on the occasion of The Presence of Absence, a collaborative typographic workshop developed by ArtCenter College of Design students at Little Steidl in Germany during the spring 2023 trimester. Over twelve weeks, seven students explored typographic form and concept through hands-on experimentation, responding to weekly challenges in the printing studio. Working on the Roland 200 press and across various papers, they produced a body of work that reflects their shared inquiries and individual approaches. The edition, limited to 200 hand-folded and stitched copies, captures the evolution of the group’s dialogue and process, where distinct voices came together around common questions in a shared visual language.
