Keith Puccinelli (1950–2017) was an American graphic designer and fine artist based in Santa Barbara, California. A graduate of San José State University, where he earned a BFA in sculpture in 1973, Puccinelli moved to Santa Barbara later that year. In 1983, he founded Puccinelli Design and earned national and international recognition for his work in graphic design, illustration, advertising, and art direction. In the late 1990s, he shifted his focus to fine art, developing an idiosyncratic practice encompassing drawing, sculpture, printmaking, assemblage, video, and multimedia installation. Known for combining humor and wit with an often poignant examination of mortality and the absurdities of everyday life, Puccinelli became an important figure in the Southern California art community. His work is held in numerous public and private collections, including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Westmont Ridley-Tree Museum of Art, and the Art, Design & Architecture Museum at UC Santa Barbara (UCSB). A catalog of the 2024 retrospective of his work, POOCH, presented at UCSB is currently being published.
