Dafi Kühne is a letterpress printer, graphic designer, and typographer from Switzerland. Along with digital means, he works with letterpress printing presses, foundry metal and wood type, laser-cut MDF, and other materials. Kühne studied at the Visual Communications Department of Zurich University of the Arts, and the Department of Typography & Graphic Communication at the University of Reading, UK. He has since fused modern means with the centuries-old tradition of letterpress printing to form a new vocabulary for communicating through type and form in a truly contemporary way. Never retro, his work is a clever response to the search for new possibilities of graphic expression. Borrowing its title from Kühne’s studio in Nafels, Switzerland, Baby Ink Twice showcases a selection of commissioned and self-initiated posters from the HMCT Archive. | Exhibition design and curation: Lavinia Lascaris |
