Wolfgang Weingart (1941-2021), was an internationally recognized Swiss designer, typographer, and educator who taught typography at the Basel School of Design and later (at the invitation of Armin Hofmann) at Yale. His students included ArtCenter faculty members Leah Hoffmitz and Simon Johnston. Considered the father of Swiss Punk Typography, his retrospective is outlined in the book, Weingart: My Way to Typography, published in 1998.
